I really don't post enough, I think I really just don't like Livejournal anymore. I am a fan of blogger so I'm thinking of messing around there. I dunno. I'm more active on Facebook than anywhere.

This past Friday I was asked by the place I'm getting married to come in for a hair/makeup consultation and to be a model for their website. Our coordinator also does hair and makeup professionally so she's wanting to showcase some of her stuff on the website. I'll have pictures soon of how it's going to look on my wedding day.

I just got my save the dates printed in the mail in my design and finished them ready for sending off for the guest list. I'm finalizing that right now. We're having a lot of out of towners, this is why we're doing the save the dates.

Other than that, yesterday was my 26th birthday. Mike woke me up this morning and he had cleaned the house and then sat one of our dining room chairs in the living room, had me sit down and he pulled out his guitar, sat down and played me a song and sang to me. He wrote me a song!! My grandparents came to visit and gave me some money, my mom gave me a little when I saw her, and I went and bought some new makeup and a shirt. My brother got me a seashell nautilus crystal frosted platter.

Later that night Mike took me to Flat Rock Grille and at the end of dinner he gave me a circle diamond necklace. It was so beautiful.

All in all, a good day.

So it turns out that my heart is healthy and actually very strong!  Good news indeed.  Turns out the birth control was the culprit after all... or for now that's the conclusion.  That coupled with another medical issue I've had for 12 years or so now.  I'm off the pill now and just being careful until we're married.  Mike says after we get married if it happens, it was meant to happen.. but until then, we're still taking precausions to prevent pregnancy.  We won't be actively trying right away, but we're not going to be jumping through hoops to prevent.

Anyway, more update later, time for Chinese food!

So I've not updated of late for important reasons.  I had to go to the ER about my heart.  My blood pressure went spastic (211/133 and a 150 pulse)!  Mike and I were in Wal*Mart when it happened and had to drop what we were doing to take me to the hospital because I just was not having a good time to put it lightly, at least when I threw up it was in the parking lot where there wasn't much light via street lamp. >.>

The ER doctor asked if my family doctor ever mentioned Mitral Valve Prolapse to me, I said no.  I didn't know what he was talking about, but it apparently was something that was to be checked into.  I went to a cardiologist recently for the follow up and had to wear a heart monitor for 24hrs since I've been having palpitations (skipped beats), NOT COMFORTABLE, let me tell you - too many cords!  I don't know the results of that yet, and they have me on a beta blocker to control my blood pressure and pulse rate.  I won't know anything until the 18th of August actually. 

I go in on the 12th to have an Echo Cardiogram and stress test (treadmill stuff and all to test how things affect my heart).  They are going to check my heart size and all that since the X-Ray showed my heart seemed a little large, which may not be anything of alarm, just something he'll also be checking.  After taking the medicine for about 12 days though I had about 130ish-140ish/90ish blood pressure and like an 88 pulse... which was surprising to me since for about a month now I've had a resting heart rate of 100-115bpm and 150ish/100ish BP. 

I still am getting consistent headaches and all, I think honeslty my birth control medication may have triggered whatever is going on with me since I started this particular pill around 2 years ago when Mike and I moved in together, and every since I have had problems (headache at least every other day type thing)

Anyways, so that's kinda kept me from updating because I've had a lot on my mind.  Even Mike ended up in the ER the following week with a pretty bad allergic reaction.  Been a crazy crazy past month. 

I'll update with more non-medical things later, stay tuned! lol

Well due to the economy I've not been able to snag much by way of commissions so I'm discounting some stuff and offering up some art at crazy rates.  I may hold this open until the month of my wedding next May.

All profits from this endeavor will go to fund our wedding budget and honeymoon.  I originally planned out this elaborate priced thing and then I got the reality check as a bride-to-be and have since come up with a wonderful wedding/honeymoon on a great budget.  So any help in making this happen would be so much appreciated by both myself and my fiancé!

Wellll.. I guess I'll show a picture of us together.  I was just all self conscious about how I looked in the most recent one.  My hair went flat and looked entirely black due to lighting.. my hair is black and crimson-ish red. :o

Well since it may be a while before the engagement photos, I figured I'd let you guys see a picture of Mike. :)

The pictures arent the best because both were taken from distance and I cropped out everyone else in the images just to show him.  The first one is from when we went to Maryland right after we got engaged in March, it's a picture taken from when we met up with a friend in Virginia on our 10hr drive home the first weekend of April.  (April 4th)

The second one is from my brother's bridal shower in March right after we got engaged before our Maryland trip.  (March 27th)

The second one (orange-ish shirt) is from the wedding in April. (April 17th)

  His hair grew fast over the course of a month.  It's even longer now, he can even do a pony tail now.  Mmmm sexy.  :P  He normally wears dark colors but the wedding shirt matched my dress so that's why we got it.

So yeah, there's my soon-to-be husband. :)

The fun part of it all is I've heard quite often that the hair/face favors Ville Valo from HIM (His Infernal Majesty) which is the frontman to my favorite band and I've always found him attractive except how he's too slender.  So I'm pleased that Mike favors face/hair and not body.  Mike is tall, broad muscular shoulders/back/etc but has a lean frame at the same time, I love it :D 

One waitress when we were out to eat went over to look at him after we were talking and told me he looked like Ville Valo and was all "you go girl, I wish my boyfriend looked like that" she said her's favored Justin Timberlake more than anyone. o.o  I remember seeing her checking Mike out a few times before we left.. lol my mom saw it too.

And just for fun, here's a picture of him making a weird face with Alicia, my baby sister.  She's so attached to him.  The picture above from the wedding she's actually standing there gripping his hand. :P 



Anyyyway, that's all for now.  I'll quit gushing.  We've been together since 2007 and I still get giddy like a school girl over him. O.O;  So forgive me lol

Does anyone have any ideas on getting extra funding? Due to the economic seizure the country is having illustration jobs have gone and hit outsourcing.. I mean seriously, Odesk people posting wanting 20 FULL illustrations of beautiful quality for like $30! And some jack-a-fuck from a foriegn country applies, which puts us who would charge $300 for that same piece gets shafted.

I've seriously hit a wall to where I actually have, in fact, made a Paypal account for wedding donations for out of town guests or friends who want to give us something for the wedding but hate gift shopping. I also created a caricature myspace shop.. http://www.myspace.com/caricaturespace though I would prefer commissions..  There were a couple of WoW commissions I was to get but those didn't work out.

I just hope it works out.

Engagement pictures are postponed for the time being.  Since a potential client fell through I don't have the funds that was to go towards it.  I'll update you guys when it does work out.

So here I am, sleeping at 11:30am-ish after waking up for a brief period to see Mike off to work when while I'm stirring in my sleep I hearing knocking.  I go into the living room and hear the door downstairs open and here it's the routine pest control guy.  I let him in and when he comes up and is doing his thing he starts talking to me.  He recognized me before from when I lived with my mom in another apartment.   I've actually not seen this guy since... uhm... October/November of last year when we left the old apartment and stayed with my mom out of town before moving back in January.  He comes once a month but I've apparently been asleep or not here when he's come since I moved in here.  Weird that he remembers me.

As we were talking I didn't catch on that he had any interest (I'm usually completely oblivious to crap like that o.o), but when I moved my hand up and crossed my arms, putting my left hand into sight he was like "Oh you're married?"  "Getting."  "Oh oh I'm sorry" and he stepped back into the kitchen to finish his work.  He seemed nervous until I kinda just kept talking so it wouldn't be awkward. I just said "Yeah, it's okay.  We're getting married in May of next year."

He told me it was a shame though, because he was wanting to ask me to dinner.  I smiled and played it off with the whole "When I look like this?" thing (I was in PJs, hair dishelved, etc) but it was returned with "Isn't that when you're supposed to look your best?"  I just laughed it off and that's when he mentioned the living in another apartment and remembering that I did cartoons and all that.  He even said something about how I had long beautiful hair when I redid my bun that was falling down, complimenting the color and all (I have a cherry cola look.. black and red, and it really looks red in the light)  I gushed about Mike and I and about how we met and stuff, I forget how I got on that.. just small talk while he worked and it kept the train of thought with the fiance and not the availability thing.  Oh yeah, that came after I said we were getting married next year.  He was like "Oh May?  Is that your birthday?"  and that's how that happened. 

It was a strange wakeup call.  I'm usually not even talked to in the complex because I stay inside and keep to myself unlike when I lived on the back lot of the complex.  Different neighbors, things like that.

And here I've been thinking that lately I've been lacking in the attractive department somewhat.  
While I hope Mike doesn't react odd to it (I don't see where he would since the guy backed off when I said I was engaged), I did enjoy the ego boost it gave.

So I've decided to start fresh with this journal. 

What's new since early 2007 when I last posted in an old journal?

Well, I met someone, a wonderful man.  We met on World of Warcraft oddly enough, yes I got a bit involved in that game.  Either way, we met face to face and things worked out, he finished school and moved in with me where I was living in 2007/early08.  We've since gotten our own 2 bedroom/2 bath place and March 20, 2009 he proposed to me.  We plan to wed on May 21, 2010.  We've been together for almost 2 years now and everything is wonderful. 

About him?  His name is Michael (he goes by Mike).  He's 22 years old, was born in Florida, but has spent the majority of his time in Maryland/Pennsylvania.  He is a Pharmacy Technician and an Independent Web Design Contractor.  He plays guitar, drums and bass and has for many years and has been part of bands in the past.  He's very talented, has a great sense of humor, and he is very intelligent. I couldn't ask for anything more in my soon-to-be-husband. 

Aside from meeting him, getting a home together, and living and loving life the most that has went on has been my younger brother got married April 17, 2009.  Here's a photo from that:



I'm still doing my illustration thing but outsourcing is killing the market.

I'm working on our wedding website right now and our registry so those things will be posted soon.  I do have a paypal account open already for those who want to contribute or do something for us and don't like to purchase gifts.. those funds go to finish paying for our wedding and start funding a honeymoon.  Let me know if anyone is interested in that, I'll toss the address to you privately.

So that's the newest information I have.  I will be keeping this thing frequently updated and I hope to get back in contact with so many of you I lost contact with before, I thought I had been forgotten but I've gotten a lot of LJ 'nudges' on the former account soo guess not! :) 

I will also have engagement photo session pictures available soon too!  We're looking to do those this month or early next!
